Features
Everything Weatherwise does
Official alerts first, then a plan for your day, the hours and days ahead, and maps that always say whether they show what happened or what is forecast.
Today
Today, with official alerts first
Today shows this hour’s forecast with rain chance, wind and humidity, a preview of the latest local radar, and active National Weather Service alerts for the selected U.S. location. Warnings come first.
- A failed or out-of-date alert check says so. It is never shown as “no alerts”.
- Alerts show while the app is open. Weatherwise doesn’t send alert notifications, so keep your phone’s Wireless Emergency Alerts turned on.
Best times for what you like
Choose from nine activities, such as walking, running, biking, a picnic or dinner outside, and Weatherwise suggests the best windows of at least two hours and explains why. A warning pauses suggestions. They are comfort suggestions, not safety advice.

Hourly
Hour by hour
Scroll through the coming hours, shown in the place’s own time zone, and switch the view to see what matters to you.
- Conditions: temperature and sky.
- Precipitation: the chance of rain and the expected precipitation for each hour.
- Wind: sustained wind speed.
Pick Fahrenheit or Celsius. Precipitation and wind follow along, in inches and mph or in millimeters and km/h.

10-day
10-day forecast
Highs, lows, precipitation and a short summary for up to ten days for U.S. locations, from the National Weather Service and MET Norway.
- Daily rain chances come from the National Weather Service for the days it covers, about the first week.
- MET Norway fills in the later days with highs, lows, amounts and summaries.

Maps
Radar, satellite and forecast maps
Four map layers, each labeled as observed or forecast, so a model run is never mistaken for radar.
- Radar: past radar from NOAA with playback, and future radar from NOAA’s HRRR model for the next six hours.
- Clouds: infrared satellite, day and night, and forecast sky cover.
- Temperature and wind speed: National Weather Service forecasts up to 48 hours ahead.
Radar covers the lower 48 states.

News
Weather news from the source
Recent stories from NOAA and NASA Earth Observatory, and advisories from the National Hurricane Center. Each story opens on the agency’s own website.
- Only government sources, and only stories from the last 30 days.
- Hurricane Center advisories stay in the list while they are less than 12 hours old.

Widget
Weather on your home screen
The Weatherwise widget shows the temperature and conditions for the place you choose, with animated artwork that you can pause.
- It refreshes on its own and doesn’t use background location.
- Readings that are too old are hidden instead of being shown as current.
